Cotswold Recycled Range

With the global problem of excess plastic growing, we have taken action and come up with our first range of recycled hikers.

41% of customers asked said that eco-friendly, sustainable materials are important when choosing footwear.

We are delighted to be pioneering the new wave in hikers. 2020 saw the launch of our first recycled hiker.

85% of the upper on these hikers are made from recycled plastic bottles.

We use a process called RPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate) which takes plastic bottles and chops them into small chips which are then melted and spun into yarn. It is that yarn that is woven into the upper of the shoe.

Five 550ml plastic bottles go into making 1 pair of our hikers

The sole is also made from sustainable rubber sources

Using RPET also uses less water in the manufacturing process.

2022 extends the recycled proportion into our lifestyle collection.

Cotswold's Recycled Range is Growing

We are always looking at ways to make more of our range recycled to help the planet and to cut plastic waste and lower carbon emitions. We are launching a recycled boots range this season to sit alongside our popular hiking range which we have also expanded.

At Cotswold Shoes, they are focused on implementing sustainable solutions in all areas of the business. There are many great initiatives across the Company, from producing recycled footwear and recyclable packaging to working with the National Forest.

We have ongoing initiaves to improve the environmental impact of our products and the processes in manufacturing them. This includes moving towards using more sustainable materials in our products and packaging, as well as reducing our water and energy consumption.

It is our responsibility to look after our environment and while we recognise that changes won't happen overnight, by accepting environmental impacts across the business and making constant progress to minimise them, we will work to build a more sustainable future.

Plant A Tree

Every pair bought helps go towards tree planting

Thanks to all of our customers help we have planted over 2500 trees in our first year of partnership with the National Forest. We are looking forward to making this even more in 2022.

We had the great pleasure of helping on one of the National Forest's planting days in 2021 where one of our sales reps took his family. This will be the first of many tree planting days we will be attending and with all our customers support we look forward to planitng more trees in the years to come.
