Grisport is a company that specializes in the manufacture of a wide range of footwear. The company started in 1977 in Italy by the duo of Grigolato Graziano and Grigolato Mario. The Italian brothers express their handicraft shoemaking talent by producing their first handcrafted pairs of Italian walking shoes in a small room in their Castelcucco home in Montebelluna, Italy. The boys became motivated by the success recorded, making their first walking shoe. They also became inspired by the creativity of the Italian shoemaking factories in Montebelluna. This made them came up with a vision to take their shoemaking skills and intellect beyond their tiny home located at the foot of the Dolomite Mountains.
The Grigolato brothers decided to kickstart their shoemaking business by focusing on making the Moccasin style of hand-stitched walking shoes. These shoes were greeted by a full acceptance by inhabitants of the North of Italy. They began to sell the shoes to wholesalers that had an extensive network of retail customers in the North of Italy. This increase in demand led to the expansion of the factory. The brothers decided to buy a home and workshop in the Montebelluna. At this time, it had become a reality that the factory is a family business. Years later, the Grigolato brother got married, had children and was living in a factory home.
Based on their vision to have a shoemaking factory that is second to none in Europe, the Grigolato brothers began to invest in procuring state-of-the-art facilities and constituted an innovative research team for the factory. The development led to patenting the factory's support system and collaborating with technology companies like Vibram & Sympatex.
At the beginning of the Millenium, Grisport has made tremendous progress in satisfying its growing customers' needs by increasing the supply chain of their products. The factory recorded increased patronage of wholesalers across China, Italy and other European countries. The increase in supply led to factory engaging the services of more than 2,000 shoemaking experts. Grisport also continued to invest in the purchase of the latest shoemaking equipment. With the employment of more staff and investment of state-of-the-art shoe machinery, Grisport expanded the land area it covers in Castelccuco by over 40,000m2.
By the year 2008, the company has become more established. It started generating the power consumed in the factory by investing about £6,000 million in its independent power generation project. The photovoltaic panels used for the power generation covered an estimated 15,000m2 land area. This giant stride positioned Grisport as the shoemaking company to beat in Italy and Europe. Today, Grisport produces over 20,000 quality pairs of shoes of comfort shoes, walking and safety boots daily. The shoes and boots are sold to customers in different countries of the world, including China. With over 5,000 models shoes and boots, Grisport remains the pride of Europe and one of the world's biggest shoemaking companies. The company continues to invest in advanced technology, innovations and designs that can increase customer's walking comfort. Grisport also has training colleges for individuals interested in the shoemaking business.
