Irregular Choice is the product of the wild imagination of Dan Sullivan, who way back in 1999 created his own brand with the intent desire to stand out from the crowd. He achieved this end with a bold yet carefree approach to shoe design, frequently utilizing ‘embellished heels, ornate wood carvings, tiny intricate charms and lavish fabrics’ to pack as much character into the designs as possible, and that does not take into account the characters present on limited edition irregular choice products, which for a time will have images or even figurines of your favourite characters from Disney to the Muppets. You really do have to see it to believe it!
Creator Dan Sullivan came from a family that was rife with design, his parents developing “transport and “chaos collections” and it seemed he inherited the creative gene early as he left home at age 15 and by 18 had opened his first shoe shop in Covent Garden, unsurprisingly by the age of 23 this had already expanded to 6 stores.
During Dan’s travels to the Far East, he was able to discover manufacturing opportunities that allowed him to put the art in his mind onto the canvas, or should I say the shoe, at a reasonable price for the costumers. Since establishing Irregular choice, the brand has infected the minds of many and is now sold through hundreds of different stockist, as well as nine Irregular Choice stores being opened across the world.
Today 600 new styles are produced by irregular choice every year, allowing for a catalogue that has now expanded to over 10,000 different designs, many of which will be regular favourites, but all are guaranteed to be absolutely-undeniably-fabulous. Irregular choice will always strive to stand out from the crowd!
