John, Oxygens founder was out of work and whilst his training as a solicitor and accountant was great for helping out friends, the training was too out of date to put bread on the table. John had spent 10 years prior working within the footwear world with his ex wife.

He used the knowledge and experience he gained through this partnership to visit Spain and develop his own footwear brand….Oxygen.

John himself admits his first collection was certainly not the best but it gave him that foot in the door and gave him time to do further research and studying for the future, the next collection hit the ground and cemented Oxygens place in the summer market. Before long the winter range followed and the classic Rhone and Danube boots were created.
