The company is still in operation today. On paper, John and Simon were diametrically opposed, but it all came together when they got to work together. Simon was a numbers and operations whiz, whereas John was a product and marketing whiz; one preferred his tea milky, while the other preferred it strong. While they shared common interests, their complementary individual passions formed the foundation of their relationship and established a tone that is still present at the heart of the brand today.
John's 'Function First' development model, which was the inspiration for Sprayway’s first sneaker, is still present in every product they create. Great fit, functional features, and the highest-quality fabrics at a competitive price have always been included as standard on their goods, and they will continue to be so.
Because of Simon's foresight, Sprayway were able to distinguish themselves from the competition. He implemented Next-day shipping on all of the orders; although this is now considered as a regular practice, it was unheard of back in the 1990s. His can-do, go-above-and-beyond approach to customer service is still prevalent throughout the organization.
Something to be proud of, Sprayway was first awarded 'Leader Status' by the Fair Wear Foundation in 2016 and has since been recognized with the organization's highest honor for performance on an annual basis. Sprayway, in collaboration with the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF), is trying to ensure that fair working conditions are achieved throughout the world. Sprayway has been a member of FWF since 2012 and has developed a close working relationship with the organization, having collaborated with them on a continuous basis for the past nine years. Not to mention, Sprayway's commitment to the development and marketing of products that are free of harmful, toxic, and hazardous chemical ingredients distinguishes the company as a distinct brand. Sprayway takes this obligation very seriously. In order for the corporation to be held accountable for protecting the environment and the general public or the individuals who will utilize the products, this obligation must be assumed.
The Sprayway Company has been able to preserve its position as a leader over the years. A thorough understanding of the company's manufacturing facilities and the ability to efficiently implement action plans whenever problems are discovered are assets.
Sprayway has worked very hard to integrate social compliance in its purchasing practices better and is committed to implementing, in all production facilities and meeting the highest standards for the socially just working conditions, the strict 8-point FWF Labor Code, which is based on UN and ILO principles. These include living wages, acceptable working hours, safe and healthy working conditions, child-working prevention, and many more.
These small details contributed to the formation of our Brand Identity and the development of who we are today.
