Victoria is a brand that began as an adventurous love story about hundred years ago. The brand presents an amalgamation of innovation, tradition, and design to create the best quality footwear for your daily use. It is the pioneer of natural rubber and cotton shoes known as “Inglesa” and launched in the 50s. Inglesa became the representation of a whole generation and earned tremendous revenue for the brand. Victoria is a contemporary footwear giant with a strong commitment to design and innovation. The brand has handcrafting and manufacturing units in Spain which allows it to release around 300 different models every season.
The story started in 1915 in a small village named Rioja along Northern Spain. Gregorio came up with an idea to create shoes that he named after his love and his wife, Victoria. The philosophy and vision of the brand come from the same love as it strives to make love last. Victoria claims that you will not only find shoes in their shoeboxes but also the love for commitment and devotion to make the job right. The brand claims that they aim to give life to all love stories through their carefully curated footwear.
In the 1950s, Gregorio came up with the idea of employing the newly invented vulcanizing method to manufacture canvas shoes from natural rubber and 100% cotton. A unique model was thus developed and named “Inglesa”. Soon after, Inglesa became a symbol of the whole generation driving millions of sales to the brand. It is estimated that the total sales increased to about 400% during the 50s. Inglesa became so popular that even after years people associated Victoria with their childhood summers.
In recent years, the brand paid homage to the years of raw material shortage by launching its no trace series. More than 40 years ago, Victoria faced a severe shortage of raw materials which resulted in the brand deciding to manufacture shoes from used rubber tyres. The current no trace series employs the same philosophy and utilizes discarded, recycled rubber tyres to give them a new life.
The brand has a huge fan following which has been built and developed over the years. For children, their first contact with the brand begins with their initial steps. For teens, this association is shaped by canvases and baskets while for boys it is all about Victoria’s Mediterranean collections.
In today’s world, Victoria is a brand that has travelled and grown across the world with its devotion to quality and the earth. The brand declares its firm commitment towards environmental safety and has launched its label “Dear World” to address the cause. It employs local production operations wherein the key manufacturing takes place in Spain. Moreover, the brand uses recyclable material for its products and aims towards sustainability and innovation. It is open to new facilities and technological avenues to fulfil its obligation towards the Victoria family and employees.
