The History of PlaktonPlakton is a famous footwear brand that is widely used today by many avid followers to enhance their comfortability. The footwear brand was founded in 1995 by the Spanish shoe manufacturing company called Eurogloria. The company started the production of the comfort cork sandal in a small office in the city of Elche, Spain. Since its inception, Plakton has been made with cork oak material harvested by the descortiçadores. In 1997, the production capacity of the Plakton became increased due to its growing popularity among the people of Elche. This led to the relocation of the company’s headquarters to the industrial estate in Elche. The company also procured new machinery and recruited experts to cope with the increasing demand of Plakton footwear. The great achievement of moving the Plakton’s headquarters to the industrial estate promoted its synergistic collaboration with the cork oak harvesters and other footwear manufacturing companies. In 1999, the company achieved tremendous progress in the sales of its products beyond the shores of Elche. The full acceptance of Plakton footwear among the Spaniards led to the first overhauling of machinery in the factories and offices. The overhauling led to an exponential increase in the production capacity, thereby coping with the increasing demands of the cork sandals. By 2001, Plakton reviewed its commercial policy by extending the supply of the cork sandals to other countries with the small and medium stores becoming its primary sales agents. The year also witnessed the introduction of the Plakton footwear brand into the French fashion market. In the year 2007, Plakton reached a significant milestone in the fashion world. The footwear brand became the choice of many fashion go-ers in the German, Spanish and the French markets. In the same year, Plakton also extended the sales of its footwear to citizens of Italy, Netherlands, Cyprus, Greece, Japan and Northern Europe. By 2010, the footwear brand began to gain massive popularity in the world with increasing demand in the Middle East, Canada and the United Kingdom. In 2015, the number of factories producing Plakton brand increased to seven. The increase led to the production and sales of over 1 million pairs of Plakton footwear brands. In 2018, the company launched a new website and corporate image designed with a whale in the middle of the image. It also approved its ecological initiatives. |
